Historic Art Installation

We have a lot of art on the walls at DPPS, much of which is photos employees took.

However, there is a new art installation that dates back before any of us were born; images from the 1940s of the Memorial Union Terrace and Red Gym.

They show a simpler time on the UW campus, one before and one after the introduction of the iconic sunburst chairs we all love. DPPS employees can walk by this hallway display and think back to their grandparents’ time as students in Madison.

So how did we acquire such awesome art? From the SWAP Artwork site, of course! Departments can request art that has been donated to SWAP to use in their work environments, free of charge! When you tire of it, you can donate it back.

Now let’s go to the terrace for a scoop of ice cream!
