DPPS Commemorates Arbor Day by Planting Trees

Arbor Day—which literally translates to “tree” day from the Latin origin of the word arbor—is a holiday that celebrates the planting, upkeep, and preservation of trees. For centuries, communities spanning the globe have found various ways to honor nature and the environment.

At DPPS we have a large plot of land behind our production facility, which was overgrown and strewn with trash and debris. Last fall, we had it cleared of brush and weeds, and added a walk path of bark mulch through part of it as a respite for employees during breaks at work.

This Arbor Day, the managers planted two yellow pines in our back forty near a picnic table. These will eventually grow up to provide shade and a block for staff when using this area. We also picked up trash around the building to beautify our space for those who visit.
